Akumal has the potential to become an example for sustainable tourism for the Mexican Caribbean, especially now as the federal government has begun the process to establish the Akumal Sea Turtle Refuge. We will help provide the basic tools for building the local community’s capacity for sustainable coastal ecosystem management. Working together, we can restore our local ecosystems and become good stewards of a healthy community and environment.
